• Piston (Standard Size, but undersized for anything after 1972))
  • MerCruiser 778-9441A3 / 778-9441 (Stamped)
    • Precedes 759-5920-10 & 759-6610-10
      • Found in the 1978-1982 Models and technically replaces those as well.
    • Superseded version of 759-8312A2 & 759-806661A7
    • These are the later style pistons that do have the valve relief notch cut into them

General Application / Compatibility

• Above all else, it's always a good idea to match the number stamped on your existing pistons!
• MerCruiser 1983-1990 3.7L 224CID "470" 2bbl and "488" 4bbl models (165hp  / 170hp / 188hp / 190hp etc.) , but technically replaces and of the early ones as well when replaced as a set (1976-1982)
  • ​​​​​​​You SHOULDN'T mix a notched piston in with pistons without the notch
