General Application / Compatibility

• This would have been used with the SMALLER OMC Stringer 4cyl Hydro-Mechanical Shift 400 Series Lower units 1978-1981
  • Not found on the V6 & V8 "800" Series Drives.
  • The easy way to tell between a mechanical shift & hyrdo-mechanical shift drive is that the hydro-mechanical ones do not have the visible anode square chunk next to the six little holes on each side toward the rear of the lower unit
• All of the 400 series lower gearcases from this time period were the same for 4cyl engines from 1978-1981 (GM 2.5L 120hp & GM 3.0L 140hp)
